Because of the outbreak of Covid pandemic and all the social distancing, it’s more important than ever that older adults stay connected to others using home technologies. In the best of times, elderly folks are prone to chronic loneliness and social isolation, and the covid pandemic has made that so much worse.
Technological tools such as Zoom video conferencing can be a great way for people to stay connected to friends and family, plus participate in virtual gatherings or take classes.
You may need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it!
I encourage you to visit your elderly relatives in a safe manner, to do a technology check and to make sure that your loved ones are able to use all the the modern devices that keep the rest of us connected.
